Honda Tour

On Tuesday, November 21st, 2017, members of the PEO Simcoe-Muskoka Chapter attended a tour of the Honda Canada Manufacturing (HCM) plant in Alliston, ON. During this tour, attendees witnessed up-close how a Honda Civic is assembled; from welding of the frames, to painting the body, to affixing interior finishes. The tour guides were extremely knowledgeable answering questions and explaining the processes in great detail. It was particularly interesting to find out that it takes approximately 13 hours to build a Civic from start to finish and that two cars are completed at the HCM plant every minute. The tour guides also discussed some of the challenges of keeping up with ever changing market demands.

We would like to extend a special thank you Honda Canada for hosting our membership and to Bob McCormick for organizing this event on behalf of the Simcoe-Muskoka Chapter.
